FIRE POWER X THREE!!

Becoming Jr. Rangers!

Hi y'all! We have conquered Canyonland NP. Did you know Canyonlands is made up of three different parts? The three districts are called The Island in the Sky, The Maze and The Needles. We only visited the Island in the Sky district, but we saw a lot! We learned about all the different rock formations and how each was made. We first went to the Grand Viewpoint Overlook and saw the whole park from the top of the mesa (called the Island in the Sky). We also hiked to Upheaval Dome which is like Crater Lake only a lot smaller, no water and huge salt formations. It was fantastic! After that we went to Mesa Arch. It was really cool. We saw caterpillars, lizards and beautiful wildflowers all along the trail. When we were done visiting all the places in the park, Luke and I turned in a booklet about the park that we had done and got our Jr. Ranger badges. Even though we stayed in only one part of the park, it was still an awesome day! We will be going to Mesa Verde tomorrow, so keep checking in!
