Summer 2007 Valley Visit

Here we are hanging out with our good friends, the Ottleys.
Rob and Mike have been friends since they were boys.
Sandra (in green shirt) is Rob's very creative and talented wife
and one of their daugthers, Sami, is the one smiling with no front teeth (what a cutie!)
We love the Ottley Family and cherish the time we spend with them!

This is Mike's Aunt Arlene (sister to Mike's dad). She lives in Yamhill and has a terrific rose garden that her husband planted years ago. She's gotten Mike and I interested in Wulf Family genealogy and I've been working on finding some of our ancestors with her information. It's fun to sit down and talk with her because she is quite the storyteller (on top of having a great memory for being 85 years old!) So this past year, we got her a digital recorder and every time we visit her, we record her stories about the family and her life. Our aspiration is to put it on the computer to make a family history book for her children, neice and nephew!

On the way over Sanitam Pass, there is a small restaurant at Marion Forks that sits along the river (a good place to eat, by the way - just your good homestyle cookin'!) We stopped to eat there and were pleasantly surprised to find that it doubles as a humming bird paradise. Mike captured these pictures. They had 4 feeders that were feeding around 3-7 birds at any given time! We sat and enjoyed watching them while we ate. Amazing little creatures!!
