Luke's Big Day!

Luke started Tae Kwon Do in September and it having so much fun!
Last weekend he attended his first tournament here in Bend.
He only participated in the form and sparring events, but got 2nd place in each.
We are so proud of how much he pratices at home
and how well he is paying attention in class!
Way to go Little Dragon!!
Here he is performing his forms for the judges.
Below he is receiving his medal - what a confidence builder!

Here Luke is waiting for the sparring event to begin and has on all his protective gear.
Doesn't he look like a marshmello man?! So cute!

Above Luke is sparring (fighting) with his opponent. They are taught how to kick and punch correctly. Then they use those tools in the sparring event. Luke did really good here with being aggressive at the right times, using his different skills and keeping his opponent moving!
Believe it or not - it was fun to watch!
Below he is bowing (showing respect) for his opponent before and after the match.
Luke is the one on the left.
Notice the 3 stripes on his belt below. Each stripe corresponds to the skill level he has acheived. Now that he has 3, he can test for his next belt (a yellow/white one).
November 30th is his testing day and he can't wait for his new belt!
