Hi everyone! Today we went to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. First we went to Mt. Rushmore before everyone got there and went on a hike to see the different sides of Mt.Rushmore. It was amazing and huge! Did you know, the heads are all 60 ft. tall, the noses are 21 ft. tall (except George Washington, who's is 24 ft)? and the eyes are 11 ft. wide. The only bad thing about it was that people were climbing all over Washington's face to complete a laser mapping of Mt. Rushmore so that people can go on a 3D virtual tour on their website. Also Luke and I got our Jr. Ranger badges too, which means we learned a lot about the memorial. Since we were really close, we went to see the Crazy Horse Memorial too. It is not even half way done, but still looks really cool. All four heads of Mt. Rushmore could fit inside Crazy Horse's head! Luke and I both got to take home a piece of Crazy Horse in the form of a big granite rock. At 9:00pm we went back to Mt. Rushmore to see the lighting of the mountain. My Dad got to help take down the American flag after they lit it because all the veteran's were recognized! It was pretty special and very patriotic!
