The Wulf Christmas Tree

Here it is, our 2008 Christmas tree.

Now this is no ordinary tree, mind you,

it's the one that we selected, on a beautiful 65 degree day

at the end of November just outside of Sisters, Oregon,

after trudging around the forest and

carefully allowing each member of the family to have their input,

then cut down amist the thunderous calls of "TIMBER!!".

This is a "Wulf Christmas Tree"

and it's perfect (well, for us anyways).

It's the first time we've decided to venture out to the wilderness

to find the "perfect tree"

and boy, did we get a great day for the adventure!

We brought the warmest clothes, tons of firewood,

hot cocoa and blankets,

thinking that the day would begin with finding a tree in the snow

and end with a steaming cup of chocolate around the campfire.

Instead, we took about half an hour to find our tree,

made a picnic out of lunch,

didn't touch the hot cocoa (we all needed water!!),

threw the football and sang Christmas carols all the way home.

The day couldn't have been anymore backwards

than we had anticipated,

but it was wonderful making a new Christmas memory!!
